Tiphaine Dickson is a doctoral student in the Public Affairs and Policy program. She earned her LL.B. from the Université du Québec à Montréal in 1993, and practiced primarily in international criminal law. She served as defense counsel before the International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda, and as a consultant in cases before the International Criminal Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia. She has published on disclosure of evidence, fixed terms of office in U.S. military courts, and due process and legitimacy with respect to the enforcement of international criminal law. Her research interests include the evolution of Holocaust research as well as the politics of international criminal law, especially state policies toward permanent and ad hoc criminal tribunals.
